Here in this article, I will share the details of the EA Games error which reads “Something went wrong due to the effects of a particularly stubborn issue”.

As per the users’ complaints, the error occurs when users try to log in to the EA app.

Even a few users have shared that they are unable to click anything on the login page. If they try to press the “Keep me signed in ” or “Sign in as invisible” or “Forgot password”, they do not respond.

In my research, I have found many players who have been having this issue for several days.

My research shows the error is coming because of any bug in the EA app, or anything from your network environment is conflicting with the EA app.

Fixes For EA Game Issue “Something went wrong due to the effects of a particularly stubborn issue”

Fix 1: Restart Your Device If You Haven’t Done This Yet

If you haven’t tried to restart your device then make sure to do this first.

Simply shut down your device along with your router, and let them rest for around ten minutes. Then restart your devices and check if you need to update the EA app, if so then consider updating the app and check if the error persists.

Fix 2: Use Email Instead Of Username

If you tried restarting your devices, and the EA app is also up to date with its latest version then try logging in with your Email instead of username. In case you are already trying to log in with your Email, then try using your username.

Do this switch and check if this helps with the issue.

Fix 3: Flush The DNS Cache

Next, I suggest you to flush DNS Cache from your device.

Over time when your DNS cache gets piled up, it may get corrupted or may prevent sending new requests, and this is not a good situation as it can cause several issues. So you have to manually clear the DNS cache from your device to check if this is the issue behind the error.

Here Is How To Flush DNS Cache For Windows

  • Tap the Start button from the keyboard.
  • Search for Command Prompt from the search bar.
  • When the “Command Prompt” app appears, Right-click on it.
  • Select Run As Administrator.
  • Then enter the command ipconfig /flushDNS and press Enter.

Here is How To Flush the DNS Cache For MacBook.

  • Go to Finder
  • From the left side menu Select Applications.
  • Go to the Utilities folder and Open it.
  • Then Open Terminal.
  • Then enter the command: sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder.
  • Then press Enter.
  • If it asks for your admin password, Enter it.
  • Then press Enter again.

Fix 4: Change DNS Server

If flushing the DNS cache is also unable to resolve the issue then you can try using a Public DNS server on your device. In case you don’t know how to use a Public DNS server on your device then you can refer to our below given guides.

Fix 5: Connect Over A Different Network

If you still receive the error then try connecting over a different network to exactly find out if this is your network or if there is something else that is causing the issue.

If you have an alternate Wifi connection then consider connecting over it, in case you don’t have access to any other Wifi connection, then consider connecting over a mobile hotspot connection.

If connecting over an alternate network fixes the issue then clearly it is your network causing the problem, so you can reach out to your ISP or you can access your Network setting to make changes.

Fix 6: Try Disabling Your Antivirus Software

If the error persists even when you are connected over a different network, then I suggest you to try disabling your Antivirus software temporarily and check if this resolves the issue.

In case this resolves the issue, then you have to add the EA app to your Antivirus exception list so it will not interfere with the EA app.

Fix 7: Reinstall EA App

If unfortunately, you are still unable to resolve the issue then you can consider reinstalling the EA app on your device.

You need to simply uninstall the EA app and restart your device. Once your device restarts, reinstall the EA app, at last check if the error persists.

Fix 8: Check EA Services Status

Next, I suggest you check if the EA services are facing some issues right now, you can do that on the EA Server Status Page.

Here is how to check the EA Services Status

  • Visit EA Server Status Page from your browser.
  • On their Server status page, you can check the server status for EA’s games and services.

Note: Users can also find the EA server updated from the @EAHelp Twitter handle.

Fix 9: Try Using EA App On Other Laptop/PC

In case the EA services are showing everything normal and working, then you can try using the EA app on another laptop/PC to check if the issue is limited to any particular device.

Fix 10: Report The Issue To EA Support

At last, if you are done with everything but still unable to resolve the issue then at this point you should wait or reach out to the EA support team to report the issue.
