Important Steam Deck Settings And Options

How To Power On Steam Deck?

On the top of the device, there is the power button. To power on the Steam Deck just press and hold the Power button for 2 to 3 seconds and then leave the power button. If your device is charged, it will start.

In case your Steam Deck does not start, check if it has changed.

How To Shut Down Steam Deck?

• Press the Steam button from the left trackpad.
• Scroll down to the bottom of the menu.
• Select Power.
• Select Shutdown.

• Select Store.

• Tap Add To Cart.

• Tap the Steam button from the left side.
• Select Library.
• Select the Game which you want to uninstall.
• Then press the Option button from the Top Right.
• Select Manage.

How To Update Steam Deck?

• Tap the Steam button from the left side.
• Scroll down and select Settings.
• Select System.
• Select Check For Updates.
• If you see an available update select Apply.

How To Verify Integrity Of Your Game Files On Steam Deck?

• Tap the Steam button from the left side.
• Select Library.
• Select the Game in which you want to verify files.
• Then press the Option button from the Top Right.
• Select Properties.
• Select Local Files.
• Select Verify Integrity Of Game Files.

How To Factory Reset Your Steam Deck?

Before factory resetting your Steam Deck please note that performing this will delete all the data from your Steam Deck’s internal storage, along with your login details. If you are going to sell your device then there is nothing to worry about but in case you are going to continue using it then make sure to back up your important data before performing these steps.

• Tap the Steam button from the left side.
• Select Settings.
• Go to System.
• Scroll down and select Factory Reset.
• Confirm the action.

Note: Once your Steam Deck is factory reset you have to setup your device again.

How To Check Notifications On Steam Deck?

• Tap the Three-dot button from the right side.
• Make sure the Bell icon is selected, which is the notifications option.
• If this bell icon is selected you will see your notifications.

How To Switch From Game Mode To Desktop Mode On Steam Deck?

• Tap the Steam button from the left side.
• Go to power and tap the A button.
• Then select Switch to Desktop.

How To Switch From Desktop Mode To Game Mode On Steam Deck?

If you are on the Desktop mode simply select the option “Return to Gaming Mode”. Once you select the “Return to Gaming Mode” your device will restart and switch back to the gaming mode.
