What Is Easy Anti-Cheat?
As the name suggests Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) is an anti-cheat service for Windows and MACOS which fights the hacking and cheating in multiplayer PC games.
We do not know exactly how they fight hacking and cheating as they haven’t disclosed it to protect them from any kind of misuse, but as per their website, they use hybrid anti-cheat mechanisms.
There are many popular games such as Apex Legends, Fall Guys, Fortnite, Rust, iRacing, etc that use Easy Anti-Cheat to protect their multiplayer PC games from any kind of hacking or cheating.
If you play a game that supports Easy Anti-Cheat, then the Easy Anti-Cheat will run alongside the game to monitor your PC while you are playing to stop any kind of cheats or hacks. And if Easy Anti-Cheat finds any activity that indicates hacks or cheats then your account can be banned from online playing.
Easy Anti-Cheat runs alongside the game, but it only runs while you are playing the game, as you will be close to the game, Easy Anti-Cheat will also get closed.
In case you want to see the Easy Anti-Cheat activity then you can visit your Task Manager or Activity monitor.
What Happens If Easy Anti-Cheat Catches You?
The only thing Easy Anti-Cheat is trying to do is to stop the players from any kind of cheats or hacks, so if it finds you doing any activity that involves cheating or hacking then your account can get banned or suspended, which will prevent you from playing online.
When Easy Anti-Cheat finds you cheating, it flags your account, and after that, the game publishers will decide whether they want to suspend or ban the account. That’s why the account suspension or ban is not immediate.
Also, they are not going to tell you what exactly they have found that resulted in your account ban/suspension. They have all the records but they do not disclose to protect their technology. But you can appeal your account suspension/ban.
Can You Turn Easy Anti-Cheat Off?
If a game supports EAC then you can’t stop it from running when playing online. But if you want to turn it off when playing offline then yes you can do this by simply disconnecting your device from the internet. You can also disable EAC with different mods and manual actions. Please be very careful while using mods to disable the EAC as it may get your account banned/suspended.

Yes, Easy Anti-Cheat is safe and legit, it is not a virus or anything similar. It is just an anti-cheat service to stop the players from cheating and hacking in online play. So if you see the Easy Anti-Cheat under your device activity monitor or task manager then don’t get worried.
How To Install Easy Anti-Cheat?
You can not download the Easy Anti-Cheat directly, Instead, it comes with the game. In case for some reason you didn’t install the EAC while installing the game then you can manually install EAC from the game files.
- Go to the EasyAntiCheat folder under your game install directory.
- For example, the default location is C:\Program Files\EpicGames\Fortnite\FortniteGame\Binaries\Win64\EasyAntiCheat.
- Under the Easy Anti-Cheat folder look for the EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe file, and Right-click on it.
- Choose Create shortcut.
- Then Right-click on the shortcut, and choose Properties.
- Then in the Target box, after the existing text, add the words install prod-fn.
- It should now look like: EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe” install prod-fn.
How To Repair Easy Anti-Cheat?
- Go to the EasyAntiCheat folder under your game install directory.
- For example, the default location is C:\Program Files\EpicGames\Fortnite\FortniteGame\Binaries\Win64\EasyAntiCheat.
- Under the Easy Anti-Cheat folder look for the EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe file.
- Choose Run as administrator.
- Make sure you have selected the right game.
- Then choose Repair Service.
How To Uninstall Easy Anti-Cheat?
- Go to the EasyAntiCheat folder under your game install directory.
- For example, the default location is C:\Program Files\EpicGames\Fortnite\FortniteGame\Binaries\Win64\EasyAntiCheat.
- Under the Easy Anti-Cheat folder look for the EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe file.
- Choose Run as administrator.
- Make sure you have selected the right game.
- Then choose Uninstall.
How To Reinstall Easy Anti-Cheat?

- Then choose Uninstall.
- Then Restart your device.
- Go to the EasyAntiCheat folder under your game install directory.
- For example, the default location is C:\Program Files\EpicGames\Fortnite\FortniteGame\Binaries\Win64\EasyAntiCheat.
- Under the Easy Anti-Cheat folder look for the EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe file, and Right-click on it.
- Choose Create shortcut.
