Here we will share the steps to completely remove the Star Citizen along with its dependent configuration files.
This process is needed when you are trying to reinstall your RSI (Roberts Space Industries) launcher, or trying to troubleshoot issues with the RSI launcher or Star Citizen.
How To Delete The RSI Launcher And Star Citizen?
Step 1: Save Your Custom Files
If you have any custom settings, keybindings, user.cfg file then you may want to save those files. Below we have shared the steps to do so.
Here are the steps to save custom settings, keybindings, etc,
- Visit (install drive)\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\LIVE\USER\Controls\Mappings, to access the mappings folder.
- From here you can save any profiles, keybindings, etc files. You can save those files in a new temporary folder.
Here are the steps to save custom user.cfg file,
- Visit the game install folder: ex. (install drive)\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\LIVE\.
- Here you can find your user.cfg file. You can save this file in a new temporary folder.
Step 2: Completely Delete RSI Launcher And Game Files
Here are the steps to completely delete the RSI launcher and game files
- Right-click on the Windows icon.
- Select Run.
- Enter “%appdata%”, and tap Ok, to access the Users\CurrentProfile\Appdata\Roaming folder.
- Find and delete the rsilauncher folder.
- Then Right click on the Windows icon again, and select Run.
- Enter %localappdata%, and tap OK to access the Users\CurrentProfile\Appdata\Local folder.
- Find and Delete the StarCitizen folder.
- Then under the file manager, go to the (install drive)\Program Files. And completely delete Roberts Space Industries folder.
- Then under the trash/recycle bin you can remove those deleted files. This will be helpful in saving space.
